A vision and a passion for having an impact on the education of our children – isn’t that what why we even consider leading an initiative to launch a new charter school? Altruistic in its purest form, an unselfish regard for or devotion to the welfare of others – but, with all of the best of intentions, if we fail to include business planning and a “best practices” mentality we may not be helping anyone!
Before you go too far you should place great significance – and therefore effort, in laying the groundwork for success and that begins with bringing together the BEST team possible. Not those who just support the cause, want to help or even may be looking for a future role – nothing but the BEST! But how do you define “BEST”? What are the critical competencies you need on your team? What will they actually do? How much time can they commit? How do you recruit and retain them?
These are just a few of the questions you need to ask – and be prepared to answer based upon facts, data, need and expectation.
If you are looking for answers, collaboration or contributing from your position of knowledge or experience, we would love to have you participate in one of our Leadership Forums.
